We have an exciting opportunity to join our new facility in Belcamp, Maryland as the Plant Accountant. Join our team! 

 

The primary role of this position is to support all accounting functions at the plant, including financial reporting, budgeting, production reporting & inventory control, as well as localized accounts payable & related inquiries. It is necessary that this role be active in identifying and resolving issues to improve overall plant efficiency and align with budget. This position will also assist in preparation & presentation of monthly financial reports to plant management, ensuring compliance with the organization’s procedures and policies, and preparation / posting of journal entries.

 

Requires strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the WAVE Controllership group and Belcamp General Manager, this position will:

  • Assist in processing the plant’s accounting related functions, including monthly closing, account reconciliations, payroll activities, and accounts payable to the extent necessary
  • Monitor the facility’s inventory control, including periodic counting, reconciling, and reviewing inventory accounts to ensure inventory accuracy, proactively investigating discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate internal control and safeguards over recordkeeping & financial reporting
  • Analyze financial data and assist in presenting financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, including raw material yields, period expense and standards variance
  • Utilize the company’s accounting systems (SAP and BPCS) to generate annual product cost standards & cost savings targets
  • Lead annual physical inventory count procedures
  • Ensure plant conformance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Communicate with all levels regarding proper accounting procedures and plant performance expectations
  • Perform some administrative functions, some of which may be of a confidential nature
  • Support the plant’s 8 step safety process by following all safety rules and maintaining awareness

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - primarily Excel skills - is required.
  • SAP knowledge preferred
