The estimated base salary range for this role is $45,000.00 to $58,000.00 per year.  

Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

 

Job Output         

Under the supervision of the Logistics Manager, this position is responsible for planning and coordinating the flow of work tasks to effectively execute outbound shipments from the Hilliard, OH distribution center.  This position is also responsible for executing activities necessary for the efficient operations of other outbound, inbound, and internal warehouse operations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure own safe performance of all work and influence team safety through adherence to all regulatory requirements and plant safety policies. 
  • Plan work tasks for shipping team for the next workday based on current team strategy and considering variables and conditions, such as crewing, shipping volume, product availability, carrier availability, inbound shipments, other shipping tasks, etc.
  • Perform tasks as the Scale and SAP key user for shipping, including: Verify and release shipments for loading; assign dock doors in system; confirm completed shipments; resolve interface errors from and to SAP; investigate and resolve allocation shortages, assist DC team with Scale and SAP issues; perform system inventory reconciliation and resolve all differences.
  • Execute outbound flow of finished stock shipments to other Armstrong DCs by: Creating shipments in SAP for all inter-DC loads; maintaining shuttle schedule; monitoring shuttle capacity; adding or removing shuttles as needed to maintain open shuttles without over shipping to a DC.
  • Manage all transportation-related work for the plant, which includes: Coordination with corporate Transportation, Customer Focus, and carriers to ensure all shipment needs are met; check in drivers explaining all safety and loading procedures; assigning dock doors; communicate trailer needs to yard jockey
  • Deliver a high level of customer service by: promptly communicating any outbound shipment issues to Customer Focus Center; assisting Customer Focus Center with questions and issues related to shipping; alerting DC team to any requirements for outbound shipments, such as special stacking or labeling requirements; monitor and maintain Hilliard DC Shipping capacity and work with Customer Focus Center to resolve any over-capacity issues
  • Effectively manage other warehouse and shipping work, including:  Prepare shipping paperwork for all non-system shipments from Hilliard; process and track all customer returns in SAP and other plant systems; coordinate inbound deliveries with DC team; collaborate with Team leader and DC team to improve processes; maintain organized filing system for all shipping paperwork; maintain office supplies for the shipping office; prepare and maintain standard work for assigned work tasks.

                                                                 

Education and/or Experience                                                                 

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-5 years of experience in warehouse or shipping environment

 

Required Qualifications                                                              

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Basic computer proficiency with email and with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to become proficient quickly in software packages such as SAP
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives
  • Basic knowledge of transportation industry modes

Our Hilliard Plant employs 100+ people across multiple shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of acoustical ceiling tile.  The Hilliard plant prides itself in placing high priority on safety, quality and exceeding customer expectations.
