Primary Duty: 

Manufacture with metal forming equipment and tools primarily press brakes (Amada) with controls. Change overs of hard tooling and electronic set up knowledge, preventative maintenance practices on equipment, assemble and package of completed products to produce needed items in the pursuit of customers’ orders with direction from team leaders and shift leads, and oversight by the Manufacturing Manager.

 

Working Responsibilities:

Must be able to work from drawings, sketches and blue prints, read/understand manuals/specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions/tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.

Input and verify accuracy of settings, adjust equipment to control speed, material feed, path of cut, confirm tolerances and machine functions to produce quality product

Ability to calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.

Conduct quality checks to ensure products are defect free or to make adjustments if needed.

Collaborate with other operators and functions to maintain and improve work processes.

Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Policies.

Assemble materials and package finished products for transport to customers.

Operate machinery or stations as instructed by the Team Leader to meet scheduled demands.

Ensure that the standards for quality, output, safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.

Keep accurate records of production, waste, quality checks undertaken.

Properly maintain equipment including basic operator maintenance

Maintain a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, one’s self, nor the environment.

Attend and participate in all required company training programs.

Conform to all company policies and procedures.

Maintain clean and organized work area.

Sweep floors and empty trash containers daily and maintain a clean working environment.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  1. 3+ years of Prior Press Brake Operation experience preferred.          
  2. Ability to read blueprints, use computers for programming equipment      
  3. Ability to take measurements, read  tape measures, calipers, micrometers and input into HMI to make adjustments to program. Make calculations using decimals and/or fractions   
  4. Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials, fabrication processes and machinery preferred.
  5. Ability to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles.
  6. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license if required.

 

Starting Pay: $18+ Depending on Experience!

 

Work Environment:
Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions.  Required PPE includes: Hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.

General:  Report inventory discrepancies.  Record any scrap on scrap sheet.  Maintain a clean safe working area including sweeping, opening scrap, emptying dumpsters, poly box, paper box, trash cans, etc.  Train crew members.   Observe all safety precautions and plant regulations to prevent injury to self and others or damage to material or equipment.  Participate in plant safety process.  Perform miscellaneous duties as required or requested by Supervisor
