As our Design Estimator, you are an integral part of the Architectural Specialties project management team working with external customers (contractors, distributors) to prepare estimates by studying plans and specifications for custom metal, wood, fiberglass and other specialties items for specific projects.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the daily RFQ’s (request for quote) from the general field, contractors and distributors meeting service lead time requirements
  • Understanding and using One Quote, Metal and Wood Excel Worksheets to quote projects
  • Working with vendors and in-house resources to establish cost and price, obtain quotes and negotiating prices
  • Collaborating closely with team members on targeted projects including supporting Coordinators on submittal documents
  • Working collaboratively with Customer Service team as required on standard or semi standard products
  • Providing sales team and customers with technical support for projects and product requests  
  • Working with Project Managers to develop a plan to win project

 

What will make you successful:

  • Associates Degree in a business, engineering or related field OR high school diploma and experience in construction or project design estimation in lieu of degree
  • Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
  • Basic math skills
  • Prior experience in customer facing activities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • OnCenter experience
  • Installing and/or estimating ceiling systems experience
