The estimated base salary range for this role is “$63,170.00 to $123,140.00” per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Manager, Finance – Fixed Assets/Manufacturing, the Financial Analyst, Manufacturing and Technology is the key financial support for the AWI Technology organization (which includes NPD, Innovation, Capital, Business Operation Support, Testing and Quality). The position will require strong analytical and business partnership skills to provide full financial support to these disciplines.  Additional support is also provided to Ventures and the Mineral Fiber Manufacturing Finance team.

 

The incumbent will enjoy a fast-paced work environment and possess the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and concisely.  Flexibility and adaptability is required to assist the broader finance team during periods of peak work requirements. This role will provide the successful candidate with experience and insight to senior decision makers and the financial activities critical to the business unit’s success.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Advise/Consult - Technology (15%):

  •  Provides financial analysis of both operating expense and operations capital spending to the AWI Technology group. 
  • Manages business confidential information including, but not limited to new product concepts and salaries.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on proper time accounting for capital projects with overall responsibility for ensuring engineering billing/time tracking accuracy and reporting.
  • Ensures project expenditures comply with internal accounting practices and external governmental regulations.

 

Analyzing/Reporting and Accounting - Technology (30%):

  • Analyzes actual vs. budget, prior year and estimate.  Highlights trends in use of resources, both human and financial to ensure appropriate use to drive business results.  Develops and oversees reporting of various business measures relative to Technology Value Streams to ensure appropriate organization visibility.
  • Develops and oversees reporting of various expenditure types to organization to ensure effective cost control.
  • Oversees financial closings on monthly and annual basis for both department expense and Operations capital. 
  • Responsible for reporting investor critical product vitality measure, including reporting to Executive Leadership.  Through the use of Tableau, allow for business leaders to see gaps/forward views of future PV
  • Responsible for annual analysis of profit enhancing projects to determine savings across approved projects
  • Assist as appropriate in the application of financial modeling, including discounted cash flow analysis.

 

Plan and Forecast – Technology (25%):

  • Working with Senior Director, Technology and other Technology leaders to develop estimates, annual expense budget and 3-year strategic plan
  • In conjunction with Technology managers and directors, creates contingency plans to ensure operating cash (both capital and expense) can be tolerated by changes in business climate.

 

Ventures Partnering (15%):

  • Evaluating and vetting of new opportunities and ideas for Ventures
  • Performs sensitivity analysis and financial modeling using different variables with limited input and through exploratory research
  • Developing business cases with reasonable assumptions, flexibility for different scenarios and consistent output for comparison purposes.  Reviewing and getting buy-in from key stakeholders on inputs/drivers and output
  • Ensures accuracy of monthly reporting and communicates costs for Ventures cost center
  • Support Ventures team by providing the use of strong, repetitive business processes and tools

 

 Support Manufacturing (15%)

  • Responsible for key business support in monthly analysis activities and special studies to drive profitable decisions.
  • Supports Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt processes, including reconciling accounts, and timely follow up in compliance with internal controls
  • Aids in loading Inter/Intracompany Trading prices for standard and special items and refreshing these models annually
  • Supports manufacturing reporting, including issuance of monthly Mfg. roll-up, operational key performance indicator reporting and other reporting as required
  • Responsible for working capital forecasting for critical estimates and strategic plan
  • Preparing, forecasting, analyzing and controlling month-end inventory valuations, including FIFO and PEOI.  Partners with operations and logistics to forecast and control business impact of valuations.

  • Accurate and timely analysis/reporting.
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Effective customer feedback measures.
  • Measured performance against yearly goals.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of study is required.
  • 3+ years of financial or accounting background in a corporate environment.
  • 2+ years of operational finance support preferred
  • Experience with SAP, SAP B/W and OneStream is a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau, desired but not required
  • MBA, desired but not required.
