Our IT team is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Lancaster.

 

As our IT Project Manager, you will oversee the execution and delivery of multiple concurrent IT initiatives by following our company’s software development life cycle (SDLC) processes. You will help develop the project team, guide the team through requirements and design, build and monitor project cost and schedule, support training and testing exercises, and assist in development of cutover planning, appropriate escalation, roadblock removal and communication across all levels of the organization while following current IT methodologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Engaging in all aspects of IT project management, including project planning, leadership and management of internal and external resources, management of project execution, risk management, prioritization, schedule and cost control, communication, issue resolution, and contingency planning
  • Overseeing day to day operations, including scheduling and managing assignments (resource planning) on 4-8 concurrent projects
  • Leading a team of employees, contractors, and outsourced resources; coaching and managing team’s performance
  • Managing the stage gate process, in conjunction with project sponsors, for the evaluation, selection, execution and monitoring of the IT portfolio
  • Providing support and facilitation for end-to-end IT Governance processes by serving as point of integration to coordinate communications, manage workflow between committees and provide consistent reporting
  • Supporting our current methodology for resource management across IT and projects impacting the business
  • Driving best practice standardization and adoption for project management across the portfolio of IT related projects
  • Developing and managing relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support in concert with our existing Vendor Relationship Management process
  • Working with business, vendors, and IT organizations to help gather business requirements and capture business processes; facilitating translation to technical specifications
  • Establishing and maintaining lines of communication with stakeholders to keep all parties informed of cost, schedule, risks, and issues
  • Serving as a point of escalation for team members’ issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve and ensure timely resolution of issues by focusing on root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans
  • Working with senior leadership to establish IT project budgets (expense and capital) and monitoring actuals vs estimates for the life of the project
  • Coordinating recruitment and selection for project resources as required
  • Developing knowledge of emerging and new technologies to meet new business requirements, adding value to the business, and helping accomplish strategic and operating plans
  • Contributing to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning and execution of initiatives to support IT services

 

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required
  • 5+ years of business analysis or management experience with Enterprise Applications, SAP, Web, Infrastructure and Digital related projects
  • 3+ years managing/running large-scale IT projects
  • Strong functional grasp of project management
  • Proficiency in MS Project
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact
  • Strong relationship building skills to ensure effective communication with customer groups
  • Skilled in organizing and motivating team members to produce high-quality, on-time results
  • Broad working knowledge of application development principles
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate strategy, vision, and direction, and to embrace and facilitate change
  • Advanced problem-solving skills for applications and business processes
  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
  • Exhibiting accountability and accepting responsibility and consequences for work performance and conduct
  • A demonstrated ability to leverage existing resources to maximize technology investments
  • Intellectual curiosity supported by strong listening and needs assessment skills; ability to identify root issues versus symptoms

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • S4 Hana experience a plus
  • Understanding of SOX/Audit requirements helpful
  • Experience with ERP systems
