Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to be located at our office in Lancaster, PA.

 

As the Mechanical Project Engineer you will support, design and install a variety of capital equipment and systems in our global ceilings manufacturing locations across the globe. Reporting into our Senior Engineer, as a Mechanical Project Engineer you will join our engineering team that plays a critical, strategic role in planning and executing projects of varying commitments between $1 and $10 million in our facilities across the globe including Asia, Europe and North America.

What you’ll be doing as a Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • Applying Precision Maintenance concepts and principles to all work performed
  • Investigating problems with the process and equipment and recommend corrective action to be taken
  • Specifying equipment and work with vendors
  • Designing, procuring and installing assets to build new production lines within facilities
  • Participating in Lean events to drive rapid process improvements
  • Partnering with the Senior Engineer to learn technology of ceiling design and develop career potential for growth opportunities
  • This position requires up to 50% travel

                 

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate's Degree and 7+ years of experience
  • 5+ years Mechanical Project Engineering experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Hands-on installation and construction management skills
  • Willingness to travel to local and international locations
  • Project Management, Precision Management, and Construction Management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications for the Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • Lean or other process improvement experience
  • Project and Manufacturing Experience Preferred 
  • Leadership skills
  • APMP knowledge
