Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is currently seeking a Product Manager - Architectural Specialties to join our Marketing/Product Management team at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. The Product Manager - Architectural Specialties will mainly be responsible for planning and executing the Architectural Specialties new product development plan and product life cycle management to meet operational goals and strategic objectives.                                      

 

Responsibilities of the Product Manager - Architectural Specialties:

  • Oversee New Products & Capabilities Portfolio Management
  • Manage process from idea generation through launch and product life cycle:
  • Portfolio development with link to businesses strategic plan
  • Research annual global trend analysis and competitive gap assessments
  • Provide market insights to Innovation team for concepts to support new product introductions
  • Work with customer-centric and solutions-based mentality, with a focus on Armstrong’s differentiation: science-based testing and proven installation systems with integrated MEP
  • Feed market insights to M&A teams to address gaps outside of current manufacturing base
  • Prioritize with supporting business cases/design briefs to maximize ROI
  • Develop roadmap for introducing products based on highest value
  • Balance for complexity as well as impact to ensure regular cadence of new product introductions
  • Own multi-generational plan, with 5-year view and own regular and cohesive launch schedule
  • Regularly validate thru Stage Gate reviews with business leaders and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with new product development in other business units to take advantage of synergies for more market impact
  • Create and implement marketing Strategies; grow awareness and demand for specialty systems
  • Work as champion on New Product Development teams by providing guidance and requirements, as well as driving schedule and performance
  • Review marketing communications new product positioning for targeted introductions
  • Develop and implement promotions in key strategic growth areas for existing product lines
  • Create product growth plans for newly acquired businesses
  • Manage Product Life Cycle Management, including current Sales performance assessment to ID top/bottom performers, maximize ROI, and address competitive disadvantages with recommendations to VP of Marketing
  • Perform pricing analysis and provide recommendations to business leaders
  • Research quality and potential efficiency improvements; forecasting product performance
  • Act as Marketing Liaison to AS Leadership team and Operations, including:

 

Required Qualifications and Education of the Product Manager - Architectural Specialties:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales or marketing
  • 5+ years of of experience in a product support, product planning, or consulting
  • Ability to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company

 

Preferred Qualifications of the Product Manager - Architectural Specialties:

  • Advanced degree in business management, marketing or planning
