Armstrong Ceilings is currently seeking a Senior EHS Manager to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. Reporting to our VP of Operations, the Senior EHS Manager will mainly be responsible for providing overall direction, functional excellence, and effective leadership of the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) process.

 

The Senior EHS Manager will also be responsible for developing and directing strategic EHS policies, EHS, EHS management and measurement systems, EHS training, and communication of performance metrics. In addition, the Senior EHS Manager will be tasked with ensuring compliance with all country, federal, state and local laws and regulations in which the company operates.

 

Responsibilities of the Senior EHS Manager:

  • Lead EHS strategy development and execution and provide guidance to manufacturing
  • Establish corporate-wide policies, systems, standard operating procedures, and programs
  • Ensure overall environmental, health, safety, sustainability and product stewardship compliance
  • Manage environment and safety audit processes for corporation
  • Champion safety culture and implement this culture throughout organization via frequent and robust communication, training, programming, and other resources
  • Manage corporate EHS team and provide world-class support to manufacturing locations by ensuring that each location has proper support and management team in place to drive results
  • Partner with plant managers and other business unit leaders to identify necessary touch points between operations process, systems, and required EHS elements
  • Evaluate and expand on EHS initiatives that drive improvement in EHS performance metrics (e.g. identification of leading indicators, recordable rate, days away rate, and notice of violations)
  • Develop and communicate key measures to senior management and inform management of environmental and safety issues and solutions
  • Develop, coach, and mentor plant EHS managers' functional capability
  • Provides direction to ABP Technology on EHS matters
  • Develop transition plan when EHS vacancies exist and provide functional expertise
  • Monitor regulatory changes and respond to regulatory agency inquiries
  • Manage environment and safety audits across the organization
  • Prepare monthly reporting on safety metrics and initiatives and quarterly reporting for Board of Director (BoD) meetings

 

Required Qualifications and Education of the Senior EHS Manager:

  • 10+ years of experience in management of environment, health and safety affairs

 

Desired Qualifications and Education of the Senior EHS Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety or related technical discipline
