The estimated base salary range for this role is “$38,380.00 to $57,560.00” per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Job Output

 

Reporting to the Office Manager of the Libertyville, IL Plant, the Accounting Technician is to assist with plant accounting functions as well as overall office administration.  In addition, the Accounting Technician must adhere to our guiding principles of integrity, commitment, and excellence.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Completes Accounts Payable duties as needed.
  • Reviews/matches invoices to receipts for purchases made through QuickBooks.
  • Prepares and participates in physical and cycle inventories.
  • Processes Plant & temporary employee timecards.
  • Processes and supports plant payroll activities.
  • Provide administrative support to plant employees, both hourly and salary.
  • Answers phone and directs calls as required.
  • Provide month end closing activities needed to Finance.
  • Maintains records in accordance to record retention schedule as provided by Corporate.
  • Commits to and follows the facility Mission, Vision, and Values that support the Armstrong Operating Principles.
  • Attends and participates in all required company training.
  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures.

 

Travel:  Minimal; less than 5%.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounts payable, and general ledger. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, SAP, and Kronos.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry and accompanying trades. 
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated customer service, written/verbal communication, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Backup to Customer Service position when needed.

Education and/or Experience

 

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
  • Three (3) years of clerical accounting experience are required.
  • Data entry experience is required.
