The estimated base salary range for this role is $72,000 to $141,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services, the Database Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for providing the support for the development, specification and communication of the enterprise technology architecture plan, the infrastructure components required to support it.  The successful Analyst leads 1-2 projects for the assigned area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports applications, data, and infrastructure architectures as assigned.
  • Supports and maintains best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure optimal daily operations are maintained.
  • Supports new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.
  • Establishes/maintains lines of communication with stakeholders with a view to keeping all parties informed of incidents, problems, and resolution.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve global standardization and organizational efficiencies.
  • Assists in the development of IT budgets (expense and capital) and estimates.
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of project resources as required.
  • Supports new and/or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of multi-year functional roadmaps for assigned disciplines.
  • Contributes to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning and execution of initiatives to support IT services.
  • Supports and maintains disaster recovery plans, including documenting solutions and procedures.
  • Works and supports upgrades, patching, and problem resolution based upon plant and application requirements (off-hours).
  • Supports database standards regarding SOX compliance and auditing.

  • Knowledge of DBA administration, including MS SQL Server and Oracle databases. 
    • Oracle RAC/Clusterware
    • MSSQL Availability
  • An understanding of large and mission-critical databases, performance and tuning of a large database environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in area of assigned responsibility.
    • Monitor and maintain database performance and optimize SQL Code as necessary
    • Reorganize tables/indexes, rebuild/defragment indexes, and gather/update database statistics
    • Advanced knowledge of database security, auditing, and backup and recovery
    • PowerShell and Linux shell scripting skills
    • Database installs, upgrades, and patching as necessary
  • Knowledge of Azure or AWS database cloud computing
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.
  • Ability to build relationships and willingness to communicate with customer groups.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure support principles.
  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Exhibits accountability and accepts responsibility and consequences for work performance and conduct.
  • Sets priorities, overcomes obstacles and opposition, and uses organizational skills to get things done in a timely manner.

Education and/or Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of infrastructure database design and implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Linux, Windows, etc.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience


  • Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing) is preferred.
