Ceiling Tile Manufacturing Plant - Marietta, PA

$21.72 per hour

 

Armstrong World Industries has openings for Production Associates at our ceiling tile manufacturing plant in Marietta, PA. Our Production Associates are trained to safely operate highly automated manufacturing equipment.  The Marietta Plant runs continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Associates can expect to work 12 hour 4 crew rotating shifts and are eligible for shift differential pay, weekend premiums and overtime pay.   New associates will enter into a 90 day probationary period, and upon successful completion, are able to bid on open positions.  We offer excellent benefits including 401(k), paid time-off for vacations and holidays, and career advancement opportunities.

Overview of the Work

  • Safely start up, operate and shutdown production equipment and perform periodic lockout / tag-outs to clear line jams or machine repairs
  • Perform basic operator maintenance checks on production equipment to make sure the production line is able to make quality product, safely
  • Troubleshoot production and/or equipment issues. Take ownership of the process by working collaboratively and proactively with maintenance and other support operations
  • Utilize standard work and standard settings and provide recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Perform quality inspections of products to achieve quality standards, minimize rework and contain non-conforming materials
  • Read, understand and adhere to daily production schedules
  • Make production entries into computer systems
  • Ensure adherence to established 5S standards by keeping assigned work areas, equipment and tools in a clean and orderly manner
  • Perform  material handling of raw materials, Goods In Process and finished goods, safely
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the production lead or supervision.

 Four (4) Crew, 12 hour shift rotation schedule  

  • 2 days on – 2 days off
  • 3 nights on – 2 days off
  • 2 days on – 3 days off
  • 2 nights on –  2 days off
  • 3 days on – 2 days off
  • 2 nights on – 3 days off
  • Then repeats the cycle

 

Background Requirements

  • High school degree or a GED, or equivalent work experience in lieu of diploma
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Additional education will be considered in lieu of work experience.
  • Work record of solid job performance including good attendance, ability to work on teams and a strong focus on safety
  • Ability to safely operate forklift trucks / tow motors, and be able to lift up to 50 Ibs, on a regular, daily basis.
  • Experience working in a warehouse distribution environment, knowledge/use of RF scanner and WMS a plus.
