Our Manufacturing department is currently seeking a Production Team Manager at our facility in Marietta, PA. As Production Team Manager, you will mainly be responsible for the design and implementation of raw material and manufacturing systems that enables continuous process improvement within the Flexline Operation. This will be in effort to achieve performance targets in the areas of Safety, Scrap, Quality, Downtime, Productivity and Cost Control.

 

Additionally, the Production Team Manager will be tasked with initiating and leading significant process improvement activities, including, but not limited to, changes involving raw material utilization, mechanical, electrical, chemical and human elements. 

 

Responsibilities of the Production Team Manager:

  • Display commitment to AWI Safety System and ensure compliance in all safety training
  • Execute Accident and Environmental Reporting Procedure
  • Notify management personnel regarding any incidents and accidents
  • Develop and administer action plans for high risk employees
  • Ensure all material shipped to customers meets quality specifications
  • Follow-up on scrap RCFA's (root cause failure analysis) and quality hold events to ensure they are complete
  • Ensure settings and standard operating procedures are being used and followed
  • Confirm process checks, board inspections, and whiteboard and manufacturing system entries are being completed
  • Manage crew training and ensure cross training and skill depth of associates
  • Ensure operator maintenance is completed on time
  • Identify and implement maintenance and process improvement ideas
  • Create schedule and ensure efficiency to minimize cost to department during downtime
  • Set high expectations and hold subordinates accountable to meeting expectations
  • Track employee incidents and issues, coach and mentor your employees, follow-up on and resolve issues
  • Establish periodic one on one feedback sessions with operators

 

Required Qualifications and Education of the Production Team Manager:

  • 3+ years of relevant technical, manufacturing, or operational experience in ceilings manufacturing industry or similar continuous manufacturing operation
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends

 

Preferred Qualifications of the Production Team Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering), business, or related field or commensurate experience
  • Knowledge and experience applying Lean Manufacturing or process improvement principles to enable organizational transformation
  • Proven ability to implement and audit systems to drive utilization of technical and support systems to achieve manufacturing results
  • Prior experience in a union environment; Supervisory experience
