Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is currently seeking a Plant Coordinator to join our Administrative team at our facility in Millwood, WV. The Plant Coordinator will mainly be responsible for providing timely, accurate, and efficient administrative support and planning activities to plant personnel in the areas of production, purchasing, EHS, human resources, and accounting.


Responsibilities of the Plant Coordinator:



  • Receive, screen, and direct incoming calls and visitors
  • Serve as Records Coordinator and coordinate annual Records Retention activities for plant
  • Provide administrative support to plant leadership team
  • Manage program coordination and special events planning
  • Maintain office and general plant supply inventory
  • Procure food and supplies for meetings and employee events
  • Coordinate travel budgets and plans for employees


Human Resources

  • Respond to inquiries and requests, including information about benefits and wellness plans.
  • Assist with personnel file administration and create new hire, mentor, and onboarding folders
  • Sort and distribute employee paychecks; verify time entry and backup Supervisor’s approval
  • Maintain employee attendance and vacation tracking records
  • Update and maintain employee boards with plant postings, policies, procedures, and EHS & HR-related government, state, and corporate plant notices
  • Serve as Jackson County Community Foundation Liaison


Accounting, Procurement, Production, & EHS

  • Enter Raw Material Receipts into system for daily tracking
  • Collaborate with management to ensure that plant is receiving proper materials quantity
  • Schedule and ship finished goods; file and maintain shipment materials
  • Support month-end close activities; complete weekly sales and purchase agreements (SPA)
  • Maintain EHS filing, such as workers' compensation files and medical files
  • Perform EHS data entry and database maintenance 


Required Qualifications and Education of the Plant Coordinator:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in an administrative or coordinator role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
