Armstrong Solutions Plafond, une division de Armstrong World Industries, Inc., est présentement à la recherche d’un superviseur de la production pour son usine de fabrication située à Montréal, au Québec.  Travaillant sous les ordres du chef de service de la production, le superviseur de la production est responsable d’assurer un leadership efficace, d’apporter des améliorations constantes et de coordonner toutes les activités de la production.


Responsabilités du superviseur de production:


Flux de production :

  • Diriger et coordonner le flux de la production dans le département en accord avec le Standard Operating Procédures (procédures d’utilisation standards).
  • Revoir quotidiennement les calendriers de production et assigner les horaires aux travailleurs.
  • Établir ou ajuster les procédures de travail pour respecter les échéanciers de production.
  • Collaborer avec le service de maintenance pour assurer le fonctionnement optimal de l’équipement et de la machinerie.
  • Maintenir un contact quotidien avec les employés du département de la production.
  • Assurer le bon entretien, la sécurité et le flux de matériel dans toute l’usine.
  • Conseiller les employés dans l’ajustement de l’équipement et de la machinerie afin d’assurer que tous les produits répondent bien aux standards de la compagnie.
  • Assurer l’intégration et l’entraînement des nouveaux employés du service de la production.
  • Résoudre les problèmes du personnel et gérer les politiques et règlements de travail.


Amélioration continue:

  • Développer, recommander et mettre en place des mesures pour améliorer les méthodes de production, la performance de l’équipement et la qualité des produits.
  • Employer les principes de Lean Manufacturing (SS, tableaux MDI, Kaizen) pour apporter des améliorations constantes.



  • Inspecter et mesurer les pièces et les produits pour s’assurer de leur conformité aux spécifications de ces produits.
  • Maintenir les standards de temps et de production pour  le département.
  • Examiner quotidiennement les tableaux SQDC,  examiner les normes et les écarts, vérifier les opérations et déterminer la cause des écarts.


Qualifications et études requises:

  • Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent.
  • Au moins 3 ans d’expérience en supervision dans un environnement de fabrication industrielle.
  • Bilingue (français et anglais).
  • Compétences en leadership et capacité à mettre en œuvre les changements dans les systèmes de fabrication.
  • Connaissances en informatique : utilisation des courriels, connaissance des programmes Excel, Word et Power Point de Microsoft.


Qualifications recommandées (un atout):

  • Expérience dans l’industrie du métal.
  • Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) ou d’études supérieures, un atout.
  • Connaissance des principales règles de sécurité (PPE, Machine Safeguarding, LOTO, etc.).
  • Connaissance et/ou expérience en méthodologie d’amélioration des processus dans un environnement ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Lean.
  • Expérience avec SAP ou avec des systèmes similaires.
  • Expérience dans un environnement de production faite sur mesure.






Armstrong Building Products (ABP), a division of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. is currently seeking a Production Supervisor at our Montreal, Quebec manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement, and coordinating of all production activities.



Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:


Production Flow:

  • Direct and coordinate product flow through department in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Review production schedules daily and assign hourly workers
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Collaborate with maintenance department to ensure optimal operation of equipment and machinery
  • Maintain daily safety contacts with manufacturing department employees
  • Ensure good housekeeping, safety, and material flow are maintained throughout plant
  • Support workers in adjusting machines and equipment to ensure that all products meet company standards
  • Ensure proper onboarding and training of new production personnel
  • Resolve personnel issues and administer policies and work rules


Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Utilize principles of Lean Manufacturing (5S, MDI boards, Kaizen) to drive continuous improvement initiatives



  • Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to product specifications
  • Maintain time and production records for department
  • Examine daily SQDC boards, review standards and variances, check operations and determine causes for variances


Required Qualifications and Education of the Production Supervisor:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to implement changes in manufacturing systems
  • Computer proficiency with email, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint



Preferred Qualifications of the Production Supervisor:

  • Experience in the sheet metal industry
  • Collegial (DEC) degree or higher beneficial
  • Knowledge of key safety regulations (PPE, Machine Safeguarding, LOTO, etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or experience in process improvement methodologies in a lean environment
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems
  • Experience in a made-to-order production environment
