Axiom & Serpentina Strategic Project Coordinator - Alpharetta

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Strategic Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating design CAD, engineering, sourcing, and customer communication on strategic and custom projects.  This position will work closely with the National Sales Manager, Regional Sales Mangers, CAD Manager, and Supply Chain Manager.  The successful candidate will have experience; reading RCP’s, using CAD, customer service communication, and project coordination.


Primary Areas of responsibility include:

  • Provide leadership and coordination on all strategic and custom projects
  • Primary liaison between Sales, Design, CAD, CSR and Supply Chain Planner
  • Provide CAD support for product design, product engineering, manufacturing and assembly
  • Project coordination to ensure products design is meeting architectural intent as well as ensure on-time delivery to customer
  • Prepare project management documents to effectively communicate status of projects
  • Collect necessary information and quotes to determine project cost / sales estimation



  • Participate in flow of custom orders between Customer Service, CAD, Production Planning, and Production teams, insuring smooth communication to produce each of these orders
  • Help to identify vendors to handle custom needs outside our in-house capabilities.
  • Provide project specific pricing for sales team
  • Develop estimating processes to efficiently price custom projects  without the need to contact each vendor on every projects
  • Work with outside sale to promote and close custom systems
  • Provide developed pricing to Customer Service for quoting and orders Assist Product Manager and Ops team with new item creation
  • Review incoming orders for completeness and accuracy.  Ensure that orders have corresponding quotations and validate pricing.



  • Possess the ability to design products using CAD software
  • Provide drawings that will identify CTQ dimensions that are essential for fit and finish as well as quality manufacturing
  • Create CAD drawings that are needed externally and internally to manufacture custom products; ex. sheet metal flat patterns, 3D models
  • Provide support as needed to interpret RCPs and design in CAD as needed



  • Establish daily standard work routine to ensure all project stake holders have the correct information to execute all projects to meet cost, schedule and performance.
  • Determine and implement the necessary communication process that will provide the proper questions and answers for successful projects
  • Provide project tracking metrics focused on; project closure rate, active projects, project shipping efficiency, and project completion.
  • Occasionally attend meetings with architects and customers to secure high profile projects
  • Pricing Management


  • Ability to read architectural RCP’s
  • Must be able to use CAD to create technical product drawings
  • Interpretation of CAD and engineering drawings as they relate to custom projects.
  • Project Management
  • Ability to occasionally travel to and visit vendors to evaluate capability and assist in establishing key processes.


  • Associates degree in Engineering required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 Years managing / coordinating architectural or construction projects
  • Experience estimating building products projects desired
  • Ability to work at both a tactical and strategic level
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the facilities
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, Inventor, and other design software
