Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Supports the Outside Sales Team with in-depth technical knowledge of company products, particularly lighting, to drive product specification and year over year sales growth. 
  • Delivers engaging and informative presentations to architects, contractors, and clients to promote the company’s products and solutions. 
  • Addresses technical questions or challenges during project discussions and presentations to ensure seamless adoption of company products. 
  • Provides troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues that arise during the sales or project implementation process. 
  • Communicates with Internal Sales Team for product coordination. 
  • Provides feedback to the Product Development Team on quality issues, industry trends and customer feedback. 
  • Develops sales strategies and techniques based on customer comments and market conditions. 
  • Completes monthly directives based on management instructions and achieve measurable goals.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Ability to understand, measure and work your way through architectural and wiring drawings. 
  • Ability to work with (IES) photometrics and room calculations with tools that may include AGI, lighting foot-candle level calculation programs, or other related software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the different layers of light in a design and making product recommendations based on project related requirements. 
  • Familiar with industry standard lighting controls and programmability, including DALI, DMX, and Human Centric Lighting. 
  • Ability to develop proficiency on all products and stay current on trends to help contribute to the product development team. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong prioritization, time management, and feedback integration abilities. 
  • Independent work ethic and effective management of client and team expectations. 
  • Proficiency in CAD, BIM, and Salesforce 
  • Commitment to staying current with industry trends and contributing to product development.

  1. Office Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.

 

  1. Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally in a technical discipline such as Architecture, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • 2-3 years of lighting sales or architectural manufacturing industry experience.
