Material Handler / Forklift Driver

  • Run and maintain the forklift; experience working in tight spaces and moving large parts.
  • Coordinate material requirements with machine operators.
  • Orderly movement and storage of materials and Work in Process.
  • Label all pallets, bins, and racks.
  • Wrap materials for movement.
  • Maintain accurate stock count.
  • Communicates with co-workers, Supervisors to ensure accurate reporting, material usage, and labor reporting.
  • Pulls raw materials and stages them accordingly.
  • Verifies that materials are received in accordance with Bill of Material.
  • Utilizes product knowledge to assist with part numbers and cycle counts.
  • Pulls finished good crates and stages them for outbound shipment.
  • Comply with Dock and Trailer Safety SOP’s.
  • Safely Loads and Offloads Trailers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain safe, clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors to help accomplish timely/correct shipments.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of inventory control experience.
  • 2 years of forklift experience. Has prior experience utilizing stand-up and sit-down forklifts, electric preferred.
  • Uses equipment to lift or move sheets of metal, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team structure to stay on schedule.
  • Able to communicate effectively to the team.
  • Prior experience receiving materials, can make cursory acceptance decisions, and follow through with supervisor for receiving.
  • Prior experience employing basic inventory management practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and resolve inventory management issues to effect cost savings.
  • Uses measuring tools such as squares, scales, rulers, and tapes accurately.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and/or move objects (sheets of metal) up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds using mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Climb ladders of varying heights.
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations.

Education:

  • High School or GED required.
