Armstrong World Industries has a job opportunity for a Project Coordinator to be located at our Hilliard Plant near Columbus, OH.  In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling and controlling assigned corporate capital projects at several of our plants in the Columbus area. The position will be part of a very ‘hands on’ project team, working with project managers, engineers and plants to ensure the projects are successful in terms of safety, cost, schedule and performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities of the Project Coordinator:

  • Executing and controlling assigned capital projects on safety, cost, schedule and performance
  • Facilitating the project teams through maintaining the Project Management standards, competencies and methods to support successful project execution
  • Maintaining key competencies, including scheduling and visual management, cost and change control management, performance, risk management, and document control
  • Developing and maintaining the Project Execution Plan
  • Leading the Project Team reporting, structure, roles, responsibilities and definitions
  • Utilizing necessary tools, including project assessment, schedule management, cost and change management, project stage gating, and risk management

 

Required Qualifications of the Project Coordinator:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in engineering or technology field or 3+ years experience in Project Management or Construction Management in lieu of degree
  • Proven Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal

 

Desired Qualifications of the Project Coordinator:

  • Experience in MS Project, Primavera P6 or other scheduling software
  • Experience facilitating team meetings
  • SAP experience in capital cost accounting
  • Experience in Lean methodology
