Primary Duty: 

Position promotes and governs a safe working environment; supports and enforces company policy, and mentors/coaches employees on every aspect of production, safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Position is responsible for ensuring and maintaining all manufacturing standards, ensuring work schedules are accomplished and manpower is scheduled accordingly. The primary area of responsibility includes Assembly of finished goods (fleecing, accessories, quality inspection, packaging). The position is responsible for the proper packaging of materials into the correct crates, developing processes to improve upon our current work practices. This position should train and lead the workforce in the assembly area.

 

 Working Responsibilities:

  • Conducts shift meetings with staff to cover safety, quality, and to provide direction and goals for daily activities – reviewing the prior day’s results.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed and communicated to direct reports. Follows all Company and OSHA Safety Policies.
  • Completes proper paperwork for accidents and notifies EHS. Reports near misses.
  • Communicates with Plant Coordinator or Plant Manager to ensure all legal employment standards are followed and to address any employee relations issues.
  • Attends and participates in all required company training programs.
  • Conforms to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.
  • Commits to and follows the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.
  • Addresses staffing needs, schedules manpower and assigns work to others.
  • Trains employees on jobs
  • Works with procurement to schedule and address material issues.
  • Performs routine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service duties to include: operation of specialty machinery, setup of complex tooling and equipment, completion of reports and logs, follow-up on work schedules
  • Interprets process sheets for workers
  • Ensures the plant equipment is clean and organized and in good working condition.
  • Works with Quality departments to solve issues on the floor. Ensures that the standards for quality, output, safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
  • Keeps accurate records of production, waste, quality checks undertaken.
  • Must be willing and able to work split shift and overtime as required.

 

Team Lead Responsibilities: Direct the work activities of 6-8 employees

 

Education and Experience:

  1. Experience in leading or managing people and in addressing difficult situations
  2. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills
