The estimated base salary range for this role is $43,000 to $60,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Job Output

 

This position is responsible for creating 3D models, 2D flats and fabrication drawings for aluminum and steel ceiling panels and accessories. You will be supporting the various products lines by providing practical and technical contributions and solutions to internal and external customers by providing skillful translation of design layouts into detailed manufacturing drawings and take-offs required to move projects from inception through order completion.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings or computer-generated reports.
  • Prepares Solidworks and Auto CAD drawings for both standard and custom products, ensuring quality and accuracy to project specifications.
  • Assesses designs for manufacturability with available equipment. Corrects design/drawing problems before transmitting final documents to production
  • Creates & maintains library of manufacturing and technical drawing files and take projects through engineering design, documentation and work aids from release through manufacturing.
  • Works closely with Construction Services and Fabrication Manager to coordinate projects though completion. Provides production teams with supporting documentation as required on a job-by-job basis.
  • Performs hands-on resolution of issues in manufacturing/fabrication area.
  • Provides technical support in tooling and equipment capability for product design integration
  • Contributes in dies and punch design for product integration
  • Programs CNC turret punch and break presses.
  • Provides design recommendations to meet customer inquiries
  • Maintains a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.

Qualifications

  1. 2+ years manufacturing experience in design and creating manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD 2D and 3D and Solidworks.
  2. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  3. Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and the various components required to design and manufacture finished products.
  4. Proficient in MS Office software.
  5. Knowledge of tooling design for metal product design
  6. Knowledge of CNC programming for turret punch and brake presses

  1. Office Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Associates degree in engineering or technical discipline or higher or additional 2 years’ experience of relevant work experience.
