The estimated base salary range for this role is “$78,000 to $97,000” per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

The Associate Procurement Manager is responsible for the development and execution of Procurement strategies.  It provides the opportunity to build exceptional relationships with business leaders, key suppliers and internal customers that will maximize value for Armstrong and build your

career.  Our close-knit, dynamic team directly influences the company’s financial performance and optimizes our supply chain.  This role is responsible for an assigned portfolio of suppliers and company spend.

What will you do?

  • Identify and prioritize procurement initiatives; allocate appropriate time and resources to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide procurement leadership to the business by assisting with strategy development, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Support project teams to achieve on-time and on-specification results.
  • Identify and recommend new suppliers.
  • Participate as part of a cross-functional team in the qualification and ongoing audit of the supply base
  • Category Management – For the assigned portfolio of suppliers and categories monitor the industry; identify and monitor key price indices for the commodity; drive and execute cost improvement projects.
  • Supplier Management - Foster a beneficial relationship with key suppliers; pro-actively monitor their health, performance, significant events.
  • Forecasting & Analysis - Provide forecasts and analysis required for financial, strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Implement and manage category specific national preferred suppliers.

What will make you successful?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3+ years of experience in Procurement or at least 5 years  experience in  finance, business, or manufacturing supervision.
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • An entrepreneur mindset to identify and deliver opportunities
  • Effectively communicate across departments
  • Knowledge of purchasing principles, sourcing, and competitive bidding
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Ability to make timely decisions and manage deadlines
  • Data analytical skills using MS Excel, Power BI or similar
  • Experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) environments. SAP, ARIBA or other e-Procurement tools a plus
  • Professional business writing

What will make you stand out?

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
  • CPM, APICS, or other related procurement or supply chain management certifications are beneficial.
