Salary Range: $80,000- $87,000


As our Business Solution Analyst, you will be responsible for providing the highest level of technical expertise for the development, specification, and communication of the enterprise digital/technology plans, the components required to support it, and in the integration of corporate and business area architectures.


You will also be tasked with leading multiple projects for your assigned area, conducting business process and cultivation sessions, and developing innovative and effective solutions for the diverse and complex business problems/opportunities. Your time will be broadly split between business relationship management, providing day-to-day operational support for existing application services to users, and performing project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new application services and business process improvements.


What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the design, development, and enhancement of business specific applications
  • Directing projects, managing resources, and monitoring progress
  • Performing requirements gathering to provide technical guidance on systems options
  • Promoting configuration and development changes throughout environment
  • Writing functional specifications, coordinating testing, obtaining customer approvals, and supporting documentation and promotion of code/configuration to production
  • Managing and coordinating large, medium, and small systems and business projects
  • Introducing new technologies to Armstrong to meet changing business needs
  • Acting as principal designer for major enterprise solutions architecture
  • Developing and managing relationships with vendors
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and training plans
  • Providing integrated functional and systems planning and roadmap development
  • Recommending new and different technologies to enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining consistent lines of communication with stakeholders
  • Serving as a point of escalation for team member’s issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion
  • Ensuring the timely resolution of issues by focusing on root-cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans
  • Assisting with the development of project budgets and estimates
  • Providing in-depth technical consultation to clients and IT management
  • Collaborating with management to identify, evaluate, and prioritize projects
  • Documenting technical architecture design and analysis work, including project post-mortem documentation and metric collection
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, including solution and procedure documentation


Requirements that will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of technical analysis and process management experience
  • Versed in Microsoft Office products


Desired Qualification:

  • Strong technical grasp of application architecture within a manufacturing environment
  • Certification in a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing)
  • Configuration experience with SAP Production Planning, Materials Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, Plant maintenance, and related master data tools
  • Deep understanding of the integrated processes associated with Procurement, Transfer orders, Sales and Distribution, Shipments and Deliveries, Production Planning to Line Scheduling, Available to Promise, Freight Rating and Tendering, Inventory Management, Output Documents, Warehouse Management processes and reporting
  • Previous work on global and regional system implementations
  • Broad working knowledge of application support principles
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and share strategy, vision, and direction
  • Expertise in embracing and facilitating change
  • Familiarity with estimating the financial impact of application and business process alternatives
