Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Commercial Sales Support Specialist to be located in Lancaster, PA. The Commercial Support Specialist will be accountable for achieving or exceeding budgeted sales, volume/mix, and profitability targets within an assigned territory. Additionally, the Commercial Support Specialist will be responsible for working with the field sales representatives to identify and qualify leads, secure project specifications, provide data pages, samples, points of differentiation on products, drawing details and pricing coordination to create a pre-sale support package.


Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Support Specialist

  • Evaluating sales opportunities and targeting those with the greatest potential for producing positive business results
  • Responding with a comprehensive pre-sale solution package in a timely manner post field sales representative sales call
  • Keeping field sales representative informed and providing feedback on actions taken
  • Considering the competition’s products and/or services and customer base in framing solutions
  • Working collaboratively with field sales representative on devising strategies
  • Conveying messages logically, simply, succinctly, and at the right pace
  • Exploring alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment
  • Supporting job follow-up by documenting all customer interaction and completed tasks documented in (SFDC)
  • Proactively reviewing specifications to assure that they are Armstrong appropriate and meet agreements of contract
  • Generating options to achieve sales objectives
  • Engaging the customer in mutual problem solving by brainstorming alternative approaches and evaluating them openly and fairly
  • Providing proactive customer outreach communications to support new product introductions to targeted customer base
  • Providing product expertise to customers by articulating the features, functions, and benefits of the Armstrong Total Solution

Required Qualifications for the Commercial Support Specialist:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent 
  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


Desired Qualifications for the Commercial Support Specialist:

  • Previous sales, customer service expertise and/or process improvement experience
