The estimated base salary range for this role is 144,000 to 235,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director Finance, New Business Development will be responsible for providing leadership, business decision support and financial discipline to evaluate long and short-term strategic business opportunities, including proposed mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships to support AWI's profitable growth objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Partners with VP, Business Development on developing Business Development, Partnerships, M & A and integration strategies.
  • Gathers information about growth, competitors, and market share possibilities.
  • Lead and participate in the identification of targets and fostering a relationship with targets to fill the business development pipeline for growth.
  • Develops the business rationale for target organizations and assesses opportunities according to risk, strategic value, mid and long-term income and market attractiveness.
  • Analyzes possible mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships, and make recommendations as to their impact on the Companies financials.
  • Prepares financial models as part of the valuation and deal structuring phase of the acquisition process (pricing, earn-out constructions, etc.).
  • Evaluates financial reports, studying company operations, and deciding how a target company will fit within AWI’s business portfolio and quantify synergies.
  • Evaluates and confirms financial and operational information of the target company - performing operational, financial and legal risk assessments of the target organization.
  • Oversees and prepares Board level content.
  • Completes economic post audit of any business development initiative to ascertain the actual value creation versus originally approved business case.
  • Supports the AWI Strategic Planning process and assists in developing plans to realize business objectives and to maintain our competitive advantage.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; MBA preferred
  • Min 10 years of financial experience, including 3 years in a leadership role; manufacturing experience a plus
