Armstrong World Industries is looking for a Director, Finance-Architectural Specialties Business in our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. As the Director, Finance you will be reporting directly to the VP of Finance, Americas and will be the business partner and strategic financial advisor to the Architectural Specialties (AS) business. The position will require strong leadership abilities to inspire, engage and develop the skills of the employees on the team, enabling them to provide full financial support to the AS business.
This includes:
- Leadership of monthly financial reporting, quarterly business reviews, estimates, strategic planning, budgeting, financial forecasting, and performance monitoring of the AS business
- Providing financial leadership and strategic direction for new acquisition integration, process improvement efforts and business/process/systems integration. Overseeing the financial evaluation of new business opportunities and new product developments and manufacturing capital appropriation requests.
- Serving as a “decision accelerator”, providing high-quality financial and strategic analysis to the AS business.
- Being the primary “trusted financial advisor” to the leaders of the AS business and a visible “change agent” for doing things better.
- Provide day-to-day financial leadership to the AS business and finance team.
- Strategic financial leadership of any proposed acquisitions, ventures, and major investment projects. Support interaction with both internal and external customers.
- Lead strategic and financial analysis of various AS growth opportunities, cost/efficiency improvement opportunities and associated investments
- Lead financial integration for newly acquired AS businesses. Create and manage the financial integration workplan for any new AS business acquisitions
- Responsible for the AS business financial statements.
- Lead the development of modeling, tracking and dashboard tools. Provide strategic financial insights to assess opportunities to help drive business performance.
- Directs the preparation of and personally analyzes a wide variety of special studies on pricing, promotion, new projects, capital expenditures, etc.
- Monitor and drive compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
- Support both internal and external audits.
- Coordinates ad hoc activities and completes special projects as assigned by the VP Finance – Americas.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads a team of 8 direct reports
- Works day-to-day with key leaders in the AS business, AS Operations and plant leaders, as well as with other members of the AWI finance organization.
- Management of special projects, as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Minimum 15 years of financial experience, including 3 years in a leadership role; manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience implementing process improvements, technology solutions, leading an effective and efficient organization, and delivering on stated goals and objectives
- Strong leadership presence with ability to interact at executive level
