Our Engineering Team is currently on the lookout for a Facilities Electrical Engineer to oversee our Corporate Data Center infrastructure equipment and assist with functional electrical engineering projects at our 225-acre, one-million square foot Corporate Headquarters campus in Lancaster, PA.


As Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will also be responsible for ensuring that electrical equipment and controls function properly and that AWI's electrical infrastructure is operating at maximum efficiency. The equipment you will be responsible for overseeing includes but is not limited to our HVAC system, 14 high voltage power substations and distribution systems, 2 MW generators, and 1 MW generator.


Responsibilities of the Facilities Electrical Engineer:

  • Provide oversight for development, implementation, and direction of Energy utilization and conservation policies and practices for main campus, including new and renovated spaces
  • Own development of AWI's Energy Utilization and Conservation Policies and practices
  • Participate in ongoing best practices review for managing and recommending upgrades
  • Meet regularly with AITS (Data Center) management regarding continuing and future capital improvements to Data Center power system infrastructure
  • Communicate with management and CBRE about assignments, planning, and scheduling
  • Assist with developing annual capital and expense budgets for Corporate Data Center projects
  • Manage campus Demand Response Program requirements and initiate Appropriation Requests
  • Own and drive energy measurement data improvements for benchmarking and reporting
  • Manage capital projects to meet costs, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Develop engineering specifications for equipment purchases and installation specifications
  • Utilize outside contractors to arrange and direct periodic campus electric power shutdowns for repairs, preventive maintenance, and power system capital improvements
  • Provide oversight for development of documentation of high voltage switching procedures and safety grounding requirements for campus shutdowns (approximately 15 existing SOP’s)
  • Serve as Electrical Technical SME for AWI Pilot Operations and CBRE maintenance team


Required Qualifications and Education of the Facilities Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related
  • 7+ years of related engineering experience 
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Proven ability to lead projects and teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and the Internet


Preferred Qualifications of the Facilities Electrical Engineer:

  • Experience with Maintenance Processes and Systems
  • Familiarity with high-voltage electrical infrastructures
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
