The estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $140,000 per year.

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, Architectural Specialties (AS), the HR Manager will provide strategic and tactical HR support to operations leaders and manufacturing teams across the Architectural Specialties network of plants. Additionally, you will support our business development team and undertake both special projects and merger and acquisition responsibilities. You will also be expected to act as a change agent within the AS organization as we continue to grow through merger and acquisitions and execute critical work needed to integrate new businesses into AWI.
What you'll be doing:
HR Business Partnership:
- Serving as HR business partner to manufacturing facilities to support achievement of plant performance metrics in areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Employee Culture
- Driving the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to enable continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, employment practices and compliance
- Supporting organization change and continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure successful change management approaches through effective planning and analysis and communication of change initiatives
- Coaching and developing plant leadership team members, providing HR guidance and input on operational plans and decisions, and maintaining a forward-looking staffing plan
- Developing and driving initiatives to foster employee engagement and employee retention
- Tracking and analyzing plant HR metrics to determine root cause and developing and executing action plans to address problem areas
M&A Responsibilities:
- Supporting due diligence and integration processes throughout M&A life cycle and serving as HR SME through diligence process, frame objectives, and report findings to leadership
- Performing pre-acquisition human capital due diligence by reviewing data rooms, interviewing management, and collecting and tracking requested information
- Ensuring program/project planning gaps and risks are effectively identified and mitigated, escalating information, and recommending issue resolution
- Assisting with post-acquisition human capital integration and execution activities and collaborating with AWI leadership to build and execute business and cultural integration plans
- Providing oversight of workforce management activity (organization design, talent, compensation design, benefits offerings, and compliance) and performing analytical review of total cost of human capital
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage delivery and governance of the integration to ensure smooth and seamless transition after mergers
- Ensuring migration of company data into database systems
- Driving change management and HR incorporation activities for new AWI facilities
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role with expertise in core HR functions such as compensation, benefits, employment practices, and employee relations
- Experience with merger and acquisition integrations
- Robust analytical skills and ability to lead strategic and tactical initiatives
- Strong project management skills and experience with owning process and culture change
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
- Strong communications and presentations skills
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification desired
Travel: Travel to plant locations is expected and is at the minimum of 25%.
