The estimated base salary range for this role is $118,060 to $196,150 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Vice President & Controller, the Manager, External Reporting is directly responsible for managing the preparation of our SEC filings, including the 10-K, and 10-Qs as well as oversight of all company-wide accounting policies, including researching and concluding on technical accounting items.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the process for the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K; file Form 8K documents as necessary; own the relationship with outside service providers to oversee filing of SEC documents; serve on Disclosure Committee
  • Communicate US GAAP developments to senior management and other impacted personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive worldwide accounting policy database and publish technical accounting memorandums, as needed, including annual revenue recognition review.
  • Serve as a key contact for external auditor.
  • Record accounting entries related to derivatives, annual cash incentive and share-based incentive plans; develop associated budgets and forecasts; own relationship with third party record keeper.
  • Serve as main accounting liaison with outside actuary for defined benefit pension, post-retirement plan and post-employment plans; review necessary accounting entries and develop associated budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee annual employee benefit plan audits, including preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Provide technical lease accounting guidance to the Accounting Operations Manager, as needed.
  • Perform annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment tests.
  • Assist the business development finance team to ensure proper purchase accounting for newly acquired entities.
  • Lead efforts to implement disclosure policies and procedures related to the Company’s sustainability program.
  • Participate in other projects as needed.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting software such as SAP and OneStream.
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and disclosures.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations, combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to succeed in a demanding environment and manage well through tight deadlines.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field required. Master's degree or MBA a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Extensive experience with US GAAP and SEC reporting rules.
  • Proven record in external financial reporting and technical accounting.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is often required.
