Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is currently seeking a Manager, Commercial Support & Sales Development Manager to join our Sales team at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. The Commercial Support & Sales Development Manager will mainly be responsible for establishing the overall organization, staffing, training, planning, direction, and management of the Commercial Support Specialists and Commercial Sales Development teams for our Sales Organization.  


Direct Reports:  8 – 15+ Inside Sales representatives


Accountability/Scope Data:  Large supervisory span of control, moderate budget responsibility, direct responsibility for territory sales performance.


Responsibilities of the Commercial Support & Sales Development Manager:

  • Deliver effective management to Commercial Support Specialists and Inside Architectural Sales personnel, including performance management, resourcing, coaching, and strategic direction
  • Lead and participate in sales process improvement efforts; identify areas for improvement and direct efforts
  • Establish common sales processes within the support specialist area and share across sales organization
  • Provide functional expertise, guidance, consultative, and problem resolution assistance
  • Oversee and coordinate recruiting and training for sales development program
  • Benchmark programs with other companies to upscale roles
  • Define and promote measurement of key leading and lagging indicators of inside sales
  • Provide functional leadership in use of our CRM system to establish trackability of jobs, customers, and contacts


Required Qualifications and Education of the Commercial Support & Sales Development Manager:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience with call centers or customer-support functions
  • Ability to maintain or improve levels of sales effectiveness and performance
  • Functional product and business knowledge, sales skills, expertise in CRM software


Preferred Qualifications of the Commercial Support & Sales Development Manager:

  • College degree
