Our Marketing team is seeking a Retail Product Marketing Manager at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA. As Retail Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and analysis of the retail product line and new product development to maximize sales revenue, mix enhancement, and price for all retail customer channels.  

 

 

Note: Up to 20% travel may be required

 

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct product line analysis and reporting to manage an effective product portfolio – including product life cycle analysis, sales trends, SKU productivity, profitability, and price/volume/mix
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, pricing, and placement across customer channels
  • Present recommendations on product strategy and additions, changes, or deletions
  • Own the management of an integrated product database, in collaboration with Channel Marketing & Communications, around product details and channels
  • Develop and lead New Product Development process for retail ceilings, creating a robust pipeline from innovation and ideation through product development and commercialization
  • Co-lead with Channel Marketing & Communications Manager, and coordinate with sales on the development and execution of effective product launches and changes
  • Identify and helps develop inorganic new product or business development opportunities
  • Collaborate with the plants and outside product vendors, channel marketing, technology (NPD, Innovation, and Business Support), sales, customer support, installation services, legal, procurement, and other key departments to support marketing initiatives, launches and campaigns, acting as the retail product expert
  • Understand customer needs and recommend research, marketing, or sales activities
  • Analyze and make recommendations on competitive products and services
  • Participate in and help develop strategy for line reviews with sales account managers
  • Help develop and assists in packaging and labeling changes
  • Monitor trends and act as a product resource for customer claims and complaints
  • Assess customer feedback (from customer claims, online reviews, etc.) and integrate into AWI quality process
  • Develop, manage, coordinate timing, and deliver presentations on retail product strategy and plans (incl. launches and multi-generational product plan)
  • Develop and conduct product line training and presentations for customers and sales team
  • Acts as liaison and product expert to the plants and outside vendors
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, NPD, Innovation, Customer Service, Techline, and Logistics about on ongoing management of and changes to the retail product line

 

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Product Design or related
  • 5+ years of Business Management, New product development/management/or design, or Project Management experience, preferably in the building products industry
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, retail ceiling & grid products, and installation methods
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, retail customer channels including wholesalers, residential builders and big box – for both light commercial and residential products.
  • Ability to develop knowledge and understanding of our manufacturing plants and demonstrated ability to work with outside vendors
  • Solid writing and presentation skills and demonstrated analytical and presentation capability
  • Ability to work effectively independently and to collaborate effectively cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
