Armstrong World Industries is seeking a Sample Coordinator, Architectural Specialties in Lancaster, PA.


As the Sample Coordinator, you will act as a liaison between the customer, premium order specialist, project coordinator and project manager. You will be responsible for understanding the premium and custom sample requirements for each request, ordering the appropriate sample material, tracking and communicating status.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Clarifying and understanding premium and custom sample requirements
  • Creating orders with plants and suppliers
  • Organizing and tracking samples
  • Communicating status and issues to customer, premium order specialist, project coordinator and project manager
  • Communicating daily with both external and internal customers to create positive customer experience and to resolve any service issues
  • Facilitating communication between customer, CSM’s, Account Manager, and other team members
  • Using knowledge of Architectural Specialties Products and supplier capabilities to ensure samples orders are fulfilled either as requested or that alternatives are presented
  • Receiving and accurately entering orders into the on-line customer order entry system (SAP) and processing them through shipment
  • Verifying the customer's job name and delivery information is accurate
  • Building collaborative working relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Compiling data and preparing monthly reports and metrics
  • Providing backup coverage and support to AS Premium Order Specialist as needed
  • Using key software including SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Salesforce, and Newforma Project Management

  • The ability to learn, understand, and transfer knowledge relative to entire AS product line 
  • Excellent listening skills and problem-solving skills relative to customer inquiries 
  • Strong math skills
  • The ability to prioritize your workload and perform multiple tasks at once is key
  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively within a team environment
  • The ability to be proactive, take initiative, be accountable, and possess a strong propensity towards change and process improvement
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs
  • Proficiency in operating a PC with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word
