As our Supply Chain Sustainability Manager, you will develop and direct a program aimed at enhancing sustainability within the Architectural Specialties supply network.  That includes but is not limited to:  Supply Chains that are resilient to disruptions and consistently meet customer needs; Products that have verified ingredient transparency required for green building standards and are free of Chemicals of Concern; Suppliers and Manufacturing sites that minimize environmental impact and protect employees well-being.  You will be a key subject matter expert within Architectural Specialties, in support of Armstrong’s overall Sustainability vision.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinate closely with Product Stewardship Manager and the Corporate Sustainability Team to understand AWI vision and market requirements
  • Identify risks within the supply network and develop supply strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Lead Supply Chain Projects and work closely with the Director Of Supply Chain & Operations, the Strategic Sourcing Manager, and the Supply Chain Planning Manager.
  • Develop tools and standard work that will assist our suppliers in meeting AWI’s sustainability requirements, such as product transparency and emissions
  • Define and Lead the ongoing effort to ensure product certification statements are audited and maintained
  • Serve as first point of contact within AS for sustainability inquiries from Sales, Construction Services, Techline, etc.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Planning Manager on key planning functions.
  • Coordinate with New Product Development Scientist and Sustainability Engineer to facilitate the collection and maintenance of documentation required for launching new products under Armstrong’s Sustain program
  • Manage priority list for legacy products and lead supplier initiatives geared toward certifying products under Sustain (in conjunction with Innovation scientists)
  • Work with Design and AS Quality to ensure specification documents clearly indicate KPI's related to Sustain performance
  • Communicate Sustainability performance requirements to suppliers (including company-owned facilities), report on progress, and develop improvement plans as needed
  • Coordinate with AS Construction Services Project managers to facilitate "custom" sustainability requirements for the largest projects and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain standard work geared toward helping the AS organization field Sustainability inquiries efficiently

 

What will make you successful:

  • Degree in Logistics, Procurement, Engineering
  • 10+ Years in supply chain management
  • Direct experience managing a complex international supply network
  • Passion for developing suppliers as valued long-term business partners
