$36.64 per hour

Four (4) years of industrial experience are required. Determine the set-up of the machine and the method and procedure to be followed for the fabrication of new parts or the repairing of old parts.Fabricate new or replacement parts.  Know the method for the duplication of worn parts by measuring mating surfaces.  Perform various hand operations using hand tools to align and fit components and parts of machinery, conveyors, etc.  Use a spray gun to spray metal or high-density plastic on surfaces to create smooth surfaces for further machining or to properly fit parts to very close tolerances.  Know melting and casting techniques.  Use precision gauges and instruments to check dimensions.  Know operation of overhead tramrail for lifting, transporting, equipment and materials efficiently.  Work from complicated blueprints, sketches, specifications, and written or verbal instructions.   Die Shop Coordinator-  Set up sander press. Set sander, change head, install shims and stops and set registration. Know how to set up a flat head. Replace stripper buttons, springs, corner post bushings, and broken bolts as needed. Pinhead, change plates. Shim plates as required. Repair flat head. Inspect plates, dyes, and related parts for damage and wear. Straighten and replace hair as needed. Weld and grind fissures as needed. Set up a rotary fissure roll. Repair rotary roll.

Inspect rotary plates for damage and wear. Return damaged plates to the factory for replacement. Repair gauges. Store dies, punches, shims, and springs. Clean dies and plates. Clear plugged punch pin holes. Remove rust and apply rust inhibitor and dies. Repair plates for MITL presses. Record and report pin wear on the and MITL heads. Salvage-worn punches to the proper length. Dress stripper buttons according to the procedure. Operate and maintain grinder, welder, stud welder, hand drills, drill press, and all hand tools associated with the job. Coordinate activities of the die shop. Make sure all required work is completed. Oversee the Die Shop Training Program.   General -   Work with limited supervision.  Maintain a clean, safe work area.  Observe safety precautions and plant regulations in order to prevent injury to self and others or damage to equipment and materials.  Perform other duties as required or requested.  Supervised by Maintenance Department Supervisor.

About the location (Macon GA)

Our Macon Plant, one of twenty Armstrong plants in North America, employs over 400 people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers.  Located approximately 85 miles south of Atlanta, the Macon facility has 33 acres under one roof, or 1.5 million square feet of floor space.  It is the largest ceiling tile factory in the world.  The operations are complex, automated, use the latest modern management technology, and manufacture a wide range of commercial and residential ceiling products.

Macon, also known as the "Cherry Blossom Capital of the World", is in the heart of Georgia and marks a historical crossroads in the south.
