The estimated base salary range for this role is “$72,020 to $98,000” per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will manage and coordinate all maintenance related activities for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities include supervising the day to day activities of multi-craft maintenance employees and contractors in routine predictive and preventative equipment maintenance, manufacturing equipment repairs and improvements and ensuring quality work output and equipment uptime and efficiency.

                                                                                     

You will also engage with employees and contractors to drive safe work practices through the use of risk assessments, risk identification and risk mitigation tools while developing and recommending cost reduction opportunities, investigating production problems to include root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and counseling plant staff on potential solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Promoting safety among employees and contractors and contributes ideas on safety improvements and OSHA requirements
  • Performing safety risk assessments with maintenance employees, ensure the timely completion of safety work orders, coach and monitor all direct reports on safe work practices
  • Promoting safe work practices in a zero accident culture
  • Managing and improving equipment performance, reliability, and uptime by assigning work in accordance with craftsperson’s capability; provide special instructions as advisable
  • Supervising assigned employees and handle daily personnel problems
  • Working with production personnel in planning and executing downday activities and maximizing opportunity time for production lines
  • Consulting with other engineering staff on more complex problems; observe workmanship and efficiency of work force and correct deficiencies as needed
  • Developing and leading predictive and preventive maintenance protocols
  • Coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment
  • Participating in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement efforts for the plant and division
  • Promoting an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Supporting capital project design and cost estimates
  • Developing crew work schedules, organize capital work orders and preventive maintenance schedules and handle emergencies as they arise
  • Working with planner(s) in determining schedules, procuring materials and tools, evaluating work orders, and coordinating work being done by outside contractors
  • Will be required to carry a cell phone and be on call on scheduled basis

 

What will make you successful

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of maintenance supervision experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience 
  • High degree of proficiency in: mechanical and electrical equipment repair, maintenance protocols and troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system and work order process
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and to drive cost reduction and process improvement projects
  • Ability to manage maintenance contractors and vendors
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance technology
  • Proven leadership skills necessary to facilitate a safe work environment

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and process improvement initiatives
