The estimated base salary range for this role is $74,180 to $126,840 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

Reporting to the Director Finance Mineral Fiber and under the general direction of the Millwood Plant Manager, this position is accountable for the consolidated summary and reporting of the plant's production and financial performance based on standard costs and budgets.  The incumbent also provides analysis and consultation on the financial impact of current results as well as projected actions. This person will be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team.

What you'll do

  • Participates and helps lead the plant safety system with the Millwood Leadership Team
  • Manages inventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures and leading the annual physical inventory/fixed asset control. 
  • Prepares detailed monthly forecasts for the full year based upon production drivers and key performance metrics at the facility. 
  • Analyzes plant operating results, interprets results and recommends a plan of action to improve financial performance.
  • Performs all the month-end financial closing responsibilities and reporting.
  • Leads regular cost review meetings to update plant organization on trends, opportunities, and needs. Provides clarity to the leadership team on financial results.  
  • Ensures plant conformance to corporate property accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the integrity of and accurate valuation of the plant's assets.
  • Leads and develops the annual plant budget, including developing standards and updating the standards and period expense budgets in SAP.
  • Prepares and coordinates a variety of special studies as needed on process improvement opportunities, capital appropriations, hoshin calendar, monthly policy deployment, etc.
  • Manages implementation of Plant Internal Control procedures and guidance to plant personnel on the preparation of Plant Practices & Procedures.
  • Generates or quantifies cost savings opportunities and supports the plant management team in the implementation of Lean or cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assists with the capital process including review of capital project requests, identifying obsolescence and project expenses, preparing financial justifications and ensuring timely creation of assets in SAP.

  • Proficiency with SAP.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  •  Minimum of 2 years directly related experience required. 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or public/corporate accounting preferred.
  • Experience in standard costing, cost accounting, inventory control, monthly closing and reporting/analysis preferred.

Our Millwood plant in West Virginia is one of fifteen Armstrong plants in North America.
