Compensation:  Hourly rate range is $23.72 - $29.68/hr. Individual pay will be based upon skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors.
Shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm. Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed.

MOZ Designs, Inc. specializes in high-end Architectural Metal Fabrication for the commercial, hospitality, institutional, and retail industries. We design and manufacture a variety of architectural products consisting of column covers, metal paneling, signage/display/fixtures, art design and many other applications. MOZ is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a full time Laser Operator position within our Production Team at our Oakland, CA.

 

Overview Of Responsibilities:

  • Review the schedule of jobs and execute plan within scheduled production time; report work via shop floor computer system.

  • Operates Fiber Laser Machine , Team Lead last 5 years

  • Examines products for quality and adjusts as needed.

  • Performs minor repairs and routine preventative maintenance on cutter machines, including cleaning scrap trays and filters.

  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain housekeeping standards.

  • Assist in other finishing/ cleaning operations as needed.

 

Experience and Education:

  • 5-8 years of experience (ability to lead)

  • Previous CNC Fiber Laser, CO2 or water cutting experience.  (within last 3 years)

  • Experience with laser cutting metal ( aluminum, stainless steel )

  • Must know basic math and how to use basic measuring equipment, tolerances are key

  • Must have basic computer knowledge, shop floor computer systems/Programing a plus.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be mechanically inclined.  (repair and maintenance is key)

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required

  • Secondary/trade training highly desired. Shop work a Must

  • Fluent in written and verbal English; bilingual English/Spanish a plus

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds

  • Frequently lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds using mechanical equipment

  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions

  • Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time

  • Climb ladders of varying heights

  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
