The estimated base salary range for this role is $92,000 to $135,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective supervision, coordination, and leadership of the maintenance workforce at the Pensacola plant. This includes involvement in all matters relating to the efficient and effective maintenance of the machines, equipment, and facilities.

 

You will also be accountable for executing and improving the maintenance systems, including planning, scheduling, predictive, preventive, and precision maintenance utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance principles. 

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating and promoting the safety program for the maintenance department
  • Managing a $4-5 Million maintenance budget and balancing the need to achieve plant operating results while not exceeding budget
  • Leading maintenance supervisors and planners to improve maintenance systems, develop better plans, estimates, and schedules
  • Reconciling employee issues and providing recognition as appropriate.
  • Administering the disciplinary process and handling grievances within the maintenance department
  • Reviewing and evaluating performance of all direct reports and coach them on improvement opportunities
  • Identifying training opportunities and instituting programs to improve the maintenance organization
  • Analyzing financial and process data to identify areas of opportunity
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the entire maintenance department
  • Establishing relationships with maintenance department leaders at other AWI plants and promote best practice sharing
  • Maximizing the cost effectiveness of all maintenance resources including labor, materials, and outside contractors 
  • Identifying maintenance process improvement opportunities through evaluating alternative solutions and analyzing costs
  • Analyzing equipment failures and developing improved methods and systems to prevent recurrences
  • Developing professional, technical, and supervisory skills of individuals within the maintenance department through coaching and other training methods

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years maintenance supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • Knowledge of precision and predictive maintenance systems 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, or related

About the location (Pensacola FL)

Our Pensacola Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide. The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.  

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle. Pensacola is a seaport on Pensacola Bay, which is protected by 52 miles of sugar white barrier islands on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of the city and is the home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags", due to the five governments that have ruled it during its history.
