The estimated base salary range for this role is “$88,000 to $100,000” per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

The Reliability Engineer is focused on improvement efforts directed at increasing the overall maintenance effectiveness and efficiency to deliver increased PR/LR. This is accomplished, in part, by developing and implementing maintenance systems including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, downtime analysis, basic care, and root cause failure analysis and 8SPS. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Reliability Engineer works closely with the Maintenance Supervisors, Craftsmen, Planners, Stores, Production Teams and Engineers to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Maintenance at the Plant

What you will do

  • Develops, implements and improves required maintenance systems (PM, PdM, CBM, etc.). Includes the full scope of PdM (Vibration, Infrared, Tribology, Ultrasonics, etc).
  • Analyzes process data to identify areas of opportunity
  • Develops and implements changes in maintenance procedures/practices which will result in increased equipment reliability
  • Leads the effort to perform FMEA’s and RCFA’s to identify and remove “reliability defects”
  • Coordinates with engineering on machine changes/upgrades to improve reliability
  • Identifies projects aimed at removing the “need for maintenance” and coordinates their implementation
  • Identifies Precision Maintenance Opportunities
  • Scopes and identifies future maintenance systems, practices and technologies
  • Analyzing Downtime and Maintenance Data
  • Creating Standard Work Documents and Job Plans
  • Performing Basic Engineering Analysis and Calculations to Develop Solutions
  • Creating/Updating Engineering Drawings using AutoCAD
  • Executing Capital Projects to Implement Solutions

About the location (Pensacola FL)

Our Pensacola Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide. The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.  

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle. Pensacola is a seaport on Pensacola Bay, which is protected by 52 miles of sugar white barrier islands on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of the city and is the home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags", due to the five governments that have ruled it during its history.
