The Company: Our Client, BŌK Modern, is a cutting-edge architectural metal systems company located in downtown San Rafael, CA. They specialize in ultra-modern architectural metal systems, including balcony and stair guardrails, wall screens, canopies, and fencing. Collaborating with renowned architecture firms, you'll be at the forefront of innovation in the industry. You will be participating in a wide variety of national and international landmark projects. Their projects are primarily for the multi-residential, educational, and commercial construction industries.

 

The Role: Reporting to the AS Senior Project Manager, the Architectural Systems Logistics Manager oversees the day-to-day supply chain & logistics activities of a team of Architectural Specialties (AS) Project Coordinators. The incumbent works closely with the Project Management Team and multiple vendors to manage workflow of quotes, purchase orders, and order entry. This role coordinates a range of related business and administrative efforts through both internal and external channels to ensure highly effective, organized and on-time delivery for our projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Accountable for providing leadership for all supply chain related functions including order management, work prep, and purchasing to achieve a high level of business performance.
  • Develop business relationships by establishing trust and partnerships with selected suppliers, including contract manufacturers, packagers, and internal AWI manufacturing locations.
  • Establish lead times, inventory strategies, and all other aspects of supply chain required to achieve project objectives. Communicate this information to necessary internal stakeholders.
  • Define default locations of internal sourcing and strategy for ‘who makes what’ based on capacity and capability. Track and support capacity planning.
  • Manage the preparation of all supply chain data and activities. Develop standard metrics for quality, service, logistics, raw material management, etc.
  • Support, as required, all procurement/supply chain, production planning or quality related activities for the business.
  • Develop and implement supply chain related policies, procedures, systems, and training.
  • Recommend preferred product sourcing strategies and supplies models while negotiating with suppliers regarding service levels, quality, price, and ensuring product safety.
  • Recommend preferred Supply Models for all product introductions including accessories and samples.
  • Act as the focal point of all communications between project teams and our suppliers.
  • Lead efforts on Requests for Info/Proposal/Quotation overseeing quoting and purchase orders for multiple vendors
  • Develop and communicate cost models and ranges for project teams.
  • Work closely with Bok leadership on supply agreements and their negotiation and renewals.
  • Identifiy and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Open new jobs in BuilderTrend & PDM.
  • Send color chips for approval.
  • Ensure smooth and proper flow of manufacturing components and delivery of products on time.
  • Coordinate weekly schedule of multiple projects from fabrication to delivery with multiple vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate tracking information to customers once project has shipped.
  • Work with Architectural Specialties Project Managers to provide problem resolution. Provide verbal and written reports with issues, implications, and potential courses of action, as required.
  • Facilitate strong internal team working relationships, general industry knowledge and growing technical knowledge.
  • Manage, mentor, and recognize Sales Administrators, AS Project Coordinators, creating a high-performance, innovative, collaborative, and continuous learning culture.
  • Train, along with Sales Manager, all new hires, and all new and existing Sales Representatives for their territories.

 

What will make you successful

  • Prior experience in supervising a customer service team preferred. 
  • Prior experience working for a building materials company preferred. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to provide structure, be proactive, navigate ambiguity, be flexible to change, manage reps, and hold others accountable.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to build and execute innovative processes, combined with the tactical ability to execute simultaneously against multiple competing priorities.
  • Able to lead cross functional teams and extract the best from each team member.
  • Ability to network with key contacts outside their own area of expertise and create formal networks with key decision makers.
  • Exceptional communication, active listening, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Familiarity working with cloud-based CRM system and/or Builder Trend preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in business, communication, project management, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of work experience in supply chain, vendor management, sales process improvement, delivery logistics and/or customer service role required (customer service back-end supply/logistics preferred)
